After an 8 hour operation, complications and 7 days in intensive care, I'm now on a surgery ward and hoping to go home tomorrow. I'm now type 3C diabetic but they are hoping to control it with tablets and testing four times a day.
Does anyone know where I can buy a medic alert? I've looked on here and can't see any.
Thanks.

Hi CoventryTrev, sorry to hear about your surgery, hope you're resting up and feeling a bit better. There's other 3Cs on the forum, hopefully some will be along in a bit.
I googled and found a link for Medicalert bracelets.
Look after yourself, Sarah

I don't have a bracelet, but I probably should! I do have NHS stickers in a variety of places: outside and inside my DM pouch where my pens and insulin live; outside and inside my backpack; on my mobile; out and in my wallet.

Welcome to the Type 3c club @CoventryTrev
Glad to hear you're back on the ward and hope you escape from hospital soon.

I bought silicone medic alert bands from Amazon which work well for me.

Speedy recovery Trev. Take things easy, no running before you can walk.

Re bracelet, I’ve been meaning to get one. 15 years later I’m still spleenless, pancreasless, gallbladderless and braceletless! Oops! 🙄

Don't have a bracelet but do have a Sunflower Lanyard and Hidden Disability Condition card. These are recognised by the majority of retail outlets - useful when out and about and you need non medical assistance.

Hope you were able to get home OK Trev. I think that type 3c is usually ultimately treated with insulin, so don’t worry if the tablets get switched out at some point.

If you specifically wanted a Diabetes UK band, there are a number of options here

Though if you wanted something that mentions Type 3c, you may need to opt for one of the ones available online that you can customise.

The last one I bought was from the ID Band Company I think
