Hi all,

I'm a third-year undergraduate, studying psychology. I'm looking into how individuals manage their type one diabetes. I would like to ask if anyone would take part in my dissertation's research. To take part you must be over 18 and have a clinical diagnosis of type one diabetes. You will be asked a series of questions on the topic of how you manage your type one diabetes and other factors within your life.

If you are interested in taking part please follow this link:

Thank you for reading this and I am very grateful for anyone who does take part. 🙂

This has been approved, so please help if you can.

Only after I turned a page did I realise that most of my answers were the diametric opposite of the truth - I often hve difficulty remembering which end is Yes and which No when the instructions at the top of the page disappear off my screen so quickly. Hence I abandoned it since it gives entirely the wrong info and should NOT be used.

Hi Jenny,

Thank you for taking the time to participate regardless of whether you finished the study or not. In regards to the questions, every-time you turn the page the order of Yes or No answers change, this is to make sure that the participants are still paying attention. Apologies for the confusion.

Siân 🙂

Oh heck Sian - sorry!

And sorry that the response box doesn't apparently recognise the circumflex accent on the A in your name - whereas the profile section of the forum does. How odd - and annoying for you.

Haha that is perfectly okay, don't worry about it. 🙂

As for my a-with-a-hat (as I like to call it) I know, it has been an ongoing battle with various sites choosing when to recognise it as an actual letter.

Done. Best of luck with the research, Siân.🙂

Done! Gosh, I did have to concentrate on which way round the answers were ordered. Probably good for my brain!

Thank you, Robin! Haha yeah just think of it as a brain training activity - hopefully it was more enjoyable than some quick maths. 🙂

This is odd - as Scousebird knows - the forum we are both on, automatically recognises how to display the character. The owner of the forum wouldn't have lasted this long probably if it didn't, since that's his wife's name! LOL

Completed. Good luck with your dissertation and degree Siân. 🙂

Done, and like others had to concentrate on the headings, and also the change in the nature of questions, as I needed to switch ends of the scale at times within a section. It certainly kept me on my toes. I hope that you get all the data you need.

Winger alert. It would be good if the survey designs allowed the headings to follow the reader down and stay at the top of the screen as you work through. However I know that this doesn’t happen in any of the packages I have used.

Done, I had to concentrate too, lots of scrolling back to the top! Good luck with your research.🙂

Thank you, Flower! I appreciate the concentration. 🙂

Thank you! That's definitely what I am aiming for: to keep my participants on their toes. 🙂

I agree, that would be a useful feature. I will have to look into it for feature studies because I know how annoying it can be to keep having to scroll up and down in order to answer the questions. If only I knew how to program websites!

It must be possible. It is in Excel, and this is such a common problem. Perhaps the designers of the packages don’t read forums!

Oh definitely, I'm sure they stay well away from forums! I have seen a similar function on websites with adverts on them. The advert at the top of the page follows you as you scroll to the bottom of the page. Now if they could apply this functioning to the survey kits that would be great!
