Morning, I’m getting to the point now with my visual impairment that im struggling with prescriptions. My small local pharmacy won’t deliver.

Do any pharmacies like boots deliver or would I need to sign up to an online prescription service? Any recommendations? How do they post insulin?

Still on the waiting list for my care needs assessment.

Boots definitely deliver, most big pharmacies do like Well.
See I got confused with boots because their website online prescription service FAQs say they don’t send items for the fridge out for delivery, so I assume that includes insulin?

Ring your local Boots and ask them about it xx

Yeah I think I’ll do that just so I know where I stand.

Edit - I think I’ve been confusing myself. The online repeat prescription they offer seems to be where they dispatch from a central location don’t post fridge items because of the fact they use RM and couriers.

But after reading more I see they offer a local delivery service for vulnerable customers which is free or for other people which is £5 per prescription or £55 for the year. I’m not sure if I fall into the vulnerable category but would imagine I do with a visual impairment and no support.

Alternately, if you have a local Lions group they might collect your prescription for you and drop it off for free - I think exactly what they do varies from place to place but here they collect prescriptions for people who are housebound and don't have anyone else to collect for them. They were also doing it for vulnerable people all through last year.

I can't find a list of local groups, but there are general contact details here you could use to ask about your nearest one - https://lionsclubs.co/Public/contact-us/

Hi MarkGeordie,

Pharmacy2U have delivered insulin before. There service can be a little bit of a task as you may have to authorise each prescription but it's a great option if you need things delivered.

Thanks I’ll take a look.
