HI I have never heard of this monitor before. I have always had ones made by accu chec which I must say I have never been happy with. My results change from one second to the next on all of the models I have had from them.

I would love to hear from anyone who has used the accu chec but has changed to the unltra easy. How do you find it? are the strips etc available on perscription?

Many thanks,

Debbs

Hi Debbs,
One touch ultra's are very good meters and yes the strips are available on prescription.

Hi Debb

I use the One Touch Ultra Smart meter it is very good, it takes all food/exercise/meds info as well as BG amounts. It was given at the carbohydrate course.

Hi Debbs!

One touch ultra monitors are great. I find the facility of being able to go back on your previous BGs, date, time, etc. is a good thing, Also being able to see the BG averages for the month, two weekly, and weekly. It's years that I have had one, although my husband has an accuchek compact, I think that the one touch ultra is better. It would be good if they could come up with a monitor that incorporated the testing sticks. Oh well, you can't have everything.

Hi

I have tried lots of makes and models and nothing can be compared to any of the One Touch models. The are all fantastic. We have used them fro nearly 9 years now and I wouldn't ever change make.

They are also know to be one of the best with low numbers. Some meters are rubbish with lows and none of them are perfect but the One Touch models do come up to being the nearest to the lab results.

Try the software too

I have an Onetouchultra2 and have recently downloaded the free software lifescan provide, which I think also works with the other Ultra monitors. With a cable they also provide free, you can load all your results onto a PC and view them in graphs, tables pie charts etc. It highlights highs and lows and makes it easy to see patterns etc., and to show your GP/DN.
Well recommended.

I bought a pink ultra easy when they were first released mine does not download to the computer, but i believe the current versions do. it is basic and small I now keep it in my handbag.

I have one touch ultra and like using it. I won an acesinsia breeze and decided after looking at it I prefered the model I'd been using so let someone who didn't have a meter have the new one.

Might I ask were you got a 'pink' one??? I would love a pink one🙂

I also have a pink ultra mini, they have lots of colours though! I bought it online direct from lifescan. I do also have a onetouch ultra 2 as a spare which was upgraded for free from the regular onetouch my DSN gave me.

for many years i had a accu check monitor, but recently my dn gave me a new onetouch ultra easy monitor and i must say i am very very happy with it and dont think i would change back to accu check again.

I bought mine direct from Life scan when they first came out but my large in Town Boots the cheimist have it too, and you can purchase with advantage points as I enquired to-day. As mine cant download readings to the computer but the lastest ones can.

Hi

You could alway try blagging them from the actually company, Lifescan. You can ring their customer services. They are very people. They don't make their money on the machines, they make their money on the strips. I think they are cutting back giving them out for free but another way is to ring them and ask them for the name of their rep that covers your area. Ring the rep and he'll give you a meter, whatever model he has at the time.

Adrienne🙂
