Hiya. When i first told friends i was diabetic, the first thing a couple of them say to me was....But your not fat? or Wow, but you dont each much sugar! - I soon educated them, dont matter how we live sometimes its just luck (or bad luck) of the draw) and I point out "it could be worse" - my cup is half full and i intend it to stay thay way until im 90! LOL 😎
 
Just didn't have that problem until I was well middle aged and because I wasn't a child by then shedloads of strangers assumed I must be T2 and therefore the 'but you're not fat' manifested itself.

They soon regretted saying that although I never actually bored any of them to death, they'd usually escaped before that! AFAIK, anyway.
 
I never had any problems with comments from anyone until I had a hospital apt a few years back and nurse turned round and told me I was type 2 as I far to old to be a type1.
So I just asked her what happened to all the children that developed type1 diabetes. The look on her face was a picture. 🙂
