So I made myself a coffee with almond milk, bg went from 7.6 first read to 11.2.
It has no carbs no sugar maybe the amount I used baffeled, any ideas lovely peeps ty xx

Caffeine can raise blood sugars too, I drink decaf.

I drink coffee every morning it's never done that I'm eating now hopefully that sorts it ty for replying x

Did you wash your hands and retest? That is always the first thing to do if you get an unexpectedly high reading.
Next is to consider other factors which might be impacting your levels..... As stated, caffeine is a stimulant so whist coffee doesn't contain carbs, it can trigger your liver to release glucose, particularly if you are not used to it, so more than one cup when you usually just have one or making it much stronger than usual or caffeinated when you normally have decaf etc. Since you have ruled that option out, then could it be a delayed dawn phenomenon/foot on the floor response. When did you do your pretest and how long after your coffee did you test again. Once again, the liver is responsible for the rise, not the coffee itself.
Also, check the milk just to make sure you didn't pick up the wrong type or they have changed the formulation.

If the coffee was in the morning before breakfast, and the reading was correct then my bet would be DP/FOTF being responsible for the rise rather than the coffee.

Oddly my FOTF has been quiet for a good few days (it would regularly raise my levels by 4-6 mmols) but I have started going high on an evening instead due to liver output. Just when you have strategies in place to cope with what it throws at you, diabetes changes the goal posts and you have to find a new strategy that will fix it.

I checked everything, I tested over an hour after, didn't think to retest, it was a shock lol x

My money would be on FOTF syndrome or possibly a one off strip error or contamination.

Don’t swear off coffee yet @Anbemcc

Wait until you,ve seen the same reaction a couple of times - could just have been a rogue strip!
