This sort of thing really bothers me - you all know my story for crying out loud! Years of not checking BGs, constant downstairs infections. I doubt very much this individual has never been ill because of it 😡 No complications? WELL GUESS WHAT IF YOU ARE RUNNING THAT HIGH AND YOUR NUMBERS COME DOWN QUICKLY THEY CAN STRIKE! For gods sake, I am so angry right now.

Yeah if any of you want to know my story its on my blog, I think its explains everything: http://www.talkingbloodglucose.com/2010/05/being-in-spotlight.html

i like one comment a girl made on there:

MWS How does she know her hba1c is 7.2 if she doesn't see the specialist?????

:D That was meeeeeeeee :D

have u seen what diabetes uk posted up:

Diabetes UK Have had a read through all these comments, and though we' should say something as it has sparked some debate:

Everyone experiences differences with their diabetes. Some people are lucky and are able to keep their levels stable and do not suffer any of the complications related to diabetes. However, there are people who are the complete opposite, and even some who fit somewhere inbetween.

This group is a place where anyone with diabetes can come and share their experiences with others and help people in similar situations. It can often be helpful for people to just hear that others are going through the same things, and realising they are not alone.

Diabetes UK : It is great to hear that your partner is managing her diabetes well. We would however advise people to visit their doctor regularly to have check ups to make sure things really are ok. Diabetes is a very serious condition and you can never be too careful - people here aren't taking it "to extremes" or being neurotic. They just want help, and can come here to get it either from us as Diabetes UK, or other members of the group.

Think DUK response is pretty fair.

I wonder if thats what he really believes about his wife's diabetes. She could have been getting her A1c from her GP and not be under any clinic.
There is alot of thought processes, worries, etc that I go through and don't vocalise to my partner, so I might come across as not really thinking too much about it. Who knows? the fact that he hasn't replied again I think says something.

She may have good control now but the problems will be along soon enough.

Very irresponsible though! He should be encouraging her to take care of herself, not let her kill herself!! Grrr
