Our Surgery has recently decided to change the glucose meter we all use. This, I think, is purely on economic grounds. My old meter, lancet device and test strips are still perfectly usable. Is there a charity or other organisation who could make use of these although I don't have many spare test strips.

Hello @John G

Welcome to the forum.

I’m not sure whether used meters are allowed to be passed on (because of the risk of cross-contamination).

If there was an organisation that may be able to pass them on, Iwoild think it would be IDDT, so you might check their website?

Thanks for the response, Mike. I have emailed IDDT and will let you know the outcome.

meters tend to be given away by the manufacturers, as their profits are in the test strips. Also thee has been a change in the accuracy of bg testing, so there us no guarantee that a particular meter us up to current standard.
hard as it may be, dispose of then responsibly.
