Hi All,

Just saying hi, I'm a T1 diabetic of some 30+ years. Libre2 with CGM through a 3rd party app. On a weight loss regime at the moment as I battle to get from 17st 10 to 13st. I'm currently 1st 10 down after 8-9 weeks which I'm chuffed about.

Take care

Yoan

Welcome @YoanDJ 🙂 That’s a fantastic weight loss!😎

Are you on a pump or on injections?

I’m on a pump and have been for almost 18years. I do take pump breaks though and go back to injections for a while. A change is as good as a rest! I started off on two injections a day, then went onto MDI, then a pump. Getting a bit fed up of waiting for a cure now!

I don’t have the Libre because it’s incredibly hard to get in my local area.

I never been that interested in a pump TBH. I started my life with libre some 5 years ago and self funded for 3 of those. My diabetic team seen the improvements I had made through MDi although I've never formally been trained and just used my 30 plus years of experience and thankfully prescribed them for me. My A1C hovers around 50 mmol/mol these days which I'm happy with.

Pumps aren’t magic and many people don’t need them or prefer injections 🙂 We all need what works for us personally. That’s why I think there should be plenty of choice.

Welcome to the forum @YoanDJ

Sounds like you’ve been getting on really well over the years.

Well done on the weight loss! That’s a terrific achievement.

Have you noticed any changes to your insulin sensitivity with the weight you have lost?
