BG 6.1 (on meter) before lunch. Had TUC biscuits and cheese spread. Then had a fat free yoghurt. Didn't have any humalog because BG then started falling until 3.05 when I was realised it was only 3.0😱 That was over half an hour ago and had Lucozade at the time - but it is still only 3.6!!! Have had more Lucozade but it is so annoying that it won't go up fast enough

Oh dear Amanda, that sounds scary. I hope you feel better soon. Does that mean you will need to take your insulin later or not at all now? Its good that you've got that cgm to let you work out when to inject or you might have taken some insulin and been really ill.

Oh no, I hope your second lot of Lucozade will do the trick!

I hate it when that happens to Carol, it makes me panic 😱

Did you take no insulin because of the delayed digestion.........?If not, why?

Hi Natalie - this one is scary because I went to bed because I felt really tired (probably hypo induced) thinking that the BG would go up because I'd had the Lucozade. Fortunately I didn't fall asleep, looked at the CGM which said 3.5 and then tested again on the meter. My guess is that I will need the insulin later but will just need to see what happens. It's so annoying especially as I had some seminar material that I wanted to writed but I can't write with my BG this low.

I never take any insulin if my BG is below 7 before a meal because of the delayed digestion. The last time I did that - three months ago - when I only had 3 units of humalog after a 60 carb meal it took me two hours and two bottles of Lucozade to get my BG above 3.5 (the BG had been above 6 when I injected) -and just as I got it up to 4.0 I was violently sick. Since then I've never dared to inject insulin for a meal until the BG has started to go up. The joy of gastroparesis

Thanks Monica - typing on here is helping me to stop panicking because it is keeping me occupied🙂

Hooray the second lot of Lucozade has worked - now up to 8.5
