Good afternoon all, I finally found the courage to post my story last week (Rejuvenated after 14 years) and I sit here today still in shock as to how my life has completely turned around in the last 2 months. If you told me at Christmas that by Easter my blood levels would be normal and that I would be off medication after 14 years I would have laughed it off thinking it would be impossible. After a check up with my Diabetic specialist yesterday that is exactly the position I find myself in now!
After my annual H1Bc tests in mid January (although not the best time being just after Christmas!) showed my blood levels as racing out of control, I finally admitted to myself something drastic needs to change. After much searching/researching I settled on the 8 week blood sugar diet by Dr Michael Mosley as well as going Ketogenic. Although it is quite difficult at first to give up almost all of life's treats the book gave me the focus to remain dedicated to my plan and the weekly results proved that the struggle is so worthwhile.
The results after 3 complete weeks was the catalyst for me to post my story last week as I was so close to reaching my targets I could taste it (which on only 800 calories a day was about the only thing I could taste!!) and to be told yesterday to immediately stop all medication was an emotional experience to say the least. This is now not the time to slack off but to push on and see the 8 weeks through as I have a further H1Bc test on the 16th April.
Speaking from experience I thought Type 2 diabetes was a condition I would have to live with for the remainder of my life but in fact it is totally in your own hands and depending on how much you really want it and believe me if you want it so bad you can and will achieve the impossible.
For me now, I have to push forward until the 16th April and I will then share the results of my next H1Bc test. If I can offer the slightest bit of advice to anyone then go on Amazon/ebay and buy this book for less than £5 as its been a complete game changer to my life/lifestyle.
Good luck everyone.
