Hi there. Just a boring old question about nuts. Does anyone know the carb content per 100g of almonds, peanuts, cashews, pistachios, Brazil nuts, hazelnuts and pecans?

Most of the books I've got weigh foods in useful measures (not!) like "average portion" and "half a cup".🙄

Hadn't thought of nuts & carbs. On Shape Your Weight they're put under Protein, along with meat and eggs.

Raw almonds 7/100g. brazils 3/100g. Cashews 18/100g.peanuts 13/100g. pistachios 8/100g. hazelnuts 6/100g. pecans 6/100g.
All data from fat and calorie counter book.

Thanks Annette. I thought you might know. Which book have you got, btw?🙂

Its the Roche Fat and Calorie Counter. I dont know if you can buy it - my DSN had a whole load she had been sent by Roche.

I often use the Tesco website to look up carb values, they print the carb details on their descriptions, which is also useful when I'm looking for dark chocolate with the least added sugar 🙂

Thanks again, Annette. I'll see if I can find it online.

Thanks, Kooks. I'll have a look at that as well.

All the info I've looked at gives completely different carb values for nuts - which was driving ME nuts! All I want is to eat a handful every day cos they're full of goodness...is it too much to ask?!😱😛

I have just ordered some 100% chocolate (from amazon for a recipe). Reckon that would fulfil your need kooky :D

Ooh, what are you making? I've had 100% bars from hotel chocolate it was rather nice!

According to a search I just did, macadamias have 14g carbs per 100g. :( Pity, as they're my favourites...

Its a sugar free (like totally sugar free) fudge. Sweetness and texture comes from dates. I will report back...
