Its that time of year again when i tend to buy a couple of bags of shelled nuts. Co op have special offer at moment and last week i brought 2 bags 1 of Brazil nuts and one of walnut half's. Just wondered if nuts are good or bad for sugar levels am going to find out about walnuts soon as have just eaten half the bag:D they were yummy. Any answers please

Nuts are great as snacks because they hardly affect glucose levels at all.

However, they are packed solid with fat and so you can't just munch through them with impunity (like wot I did yesterday!).

My problem with nuts is that eating the recommended daily amount just leaves me wanting more.

Yes, agreed, it is the calories that are the issue.

The 175g bag of roasted nut assortment (almonds, cashews, hazelnuts, macadamia & pecan) I ate yesterday was 1181 calories. 😱

Today, I will be doing a 10km row as penance!
