Just a reminder to wash hands after having Gloco tabs or similar for hypo🙂

Bed time last night K tested 3.6 so she had glucose and a couple of crackers (I know not the way everyone would do it but its what works for her if hypo at night)

Tested 15mins later and was 16.8😱 - hadn't washed her hands - tested again after washing - was 9.2. (still sugar there I'm thinking)

No idea how accurate any of those numbers were as K didn't wash her hands before first test either.

Grrrrr:D

It can catch you out now and then! I must admit I don't assiduously wash before testing, just if I get a reading that is nothing like I am expecting. I can probably get away with that because my levels tend to be reasonable most of the time and a strange result really stands out 🙂

I've done this recently after treating a hypo......checked my Sugar and wondered why it was 16.......washed my hands and it suddenly went down to 6. Must admit that I'm often not very good at washing my hands before a test

This happened to me at xmas, blood test said 27mmol,total panic stations for a while ,washed hands and it wasn't anywhere near 27mmol,still don't wash my hands regulary for a blood test though.
