Hi i went to see nurse they prescribed novopen 6 I'm so confused how to.use think they said with lantus

Unfortunately, different insulin manufacturers have different shaped cartridges for pens. Only insulin cartridges made by NovoNordisk like NovoRapid and Tresiba can be used in NovoPens.
Lantus is made by Sanofi and need different reusable pens.

Thank you I'm so confused how to use it don't want to look stupid but have no idea x

Novopen 6 doesn't work with Lantus - you need an All star PRO or Junior STAR for Lantus Cartridges

It’ll be for your rapid doses @corriefan

And the readout on the end will be a helpful reminder about what doses you’ve had when 🙂

Thank you everyone for replying. My glucose when low today alarm went off had to eat sweets when came back head boss never asked if I was OK just gave me a job to do

Sanofi pens seem to be like rocking horse **** to get hold of!
Never had any problems ordering a junior star pen. Can’t get hold of any apidra cartridges to go in them is the problem. Must be 3-4 weeks since I requested my prescription now.

Definitely recommend junior star over all star pen. Unless you need to inject more than 30u in one go

I hope you were ok.

I think it is tough for other people to know how to react.
I think our family motto is "don't make a fuss" and, as a result, I don't want anyone to draw attention to my diabetes. I would be really happy if my boss reacted as yours did. I wouldn't see it as if he didn't care. I would see it as "he gets me."
But we are all different which makes people management both interesting (I have done it) and challenging, especially as managers are not mind readers. Maybe you could mention your feelings to your boss in a way that doesn't make a big thing of it but let's him know what you need. But don't take it personally.

Good news on the Tresiba. That will fit nicely in your NovoPen.

Even my partner doesn't ask if I am OK after a hypo, he just lets me get on with it since he knows I am more than competent to deal with it. Like @helli I would not want anyone making a fuss or issue of it.

It's not about fussing it's that I went to get sweets and was literally just asked to do a job rather than being allowed to sit there
Can you not keep carbs in a pocket or running belt under top then you don’t have to go and get them you can just have them to hand

I wouldn’t expect your boss to know you had a hypo at all, unless it’s a particularly bad one your libre alarm should be going off before you’re actually hypo anyway, you should have some carbs in your pocket to eat and carry on with your work.

I know exactly what you mean @corriefan I’ve had that before too. Just let them know that when you’re sitting/eating sweets, etc, you just need a few minutes. I think some ignorant (as in not aware) people look and think “Ah, she’s just sitting there with nothing to do so I’ll send her up to get a pile of whatevers”.

It did go off

It did go off
Sounds like it didn’t go off until you were actually hypo if you needed to sit down and recover? Alarm should ideally go off before hypo so you can prevent it and carry on with work.
