@CoventryTrev had my total pancreatectomy in 2010 due to neuroendocrine cancer. Lots of good advice above. 2 things have made big differences to my life since then.
1. Learning to live and think like a type 1 diabetic (DAFNE course)
2. getting a CGM - the information this gives is literally mind blowing. Note there has been publicity about NICE changing CGM availability for Type 1's, there is a small paragraph in this document which means your diabetes team should strongly consider giving you a CGM if asked.

I was going to ask you which department your worked in. I was in Biology based in the now gone, famous D block. In the time I worked there our department was in 5 different faculties.

I was there as a mere student. In M Block, opposite the Colin Campbell. Studying graphic design.

The pub is still there, called something else now and M block is called the Graham Sutherland Building, just undergone a refurbishment and the Odeon cinema is the home of the drama and theatre studies courses, renamed the Ellen Terry Building.

Well I trust they kept the wobbly pool table in the refurb of the Campbell!

I went to a diabetes event in Cov 6 or 7 years back and I couldn‘t believe how much had changed. feels like they have completely remodelled the centre!

Interesting, I worked there for 30 odd years from 1987 until three years ago. So much change over that time.

I did my first degree at 'Cov Poly' (1989-1992) in the physics department and also computer science! After doing some postgrad courses I ended up getting a job back in Coventry and came back... (I still have a few old University friends here, as well.)

It's still changing rapidly, for the better mainly. Used to do some great pub crawls from Far Gosford Street down to Spon Street when I was a student!

The Physics dept was part of the Faculty of Applied Science which I was part of in Biology, soon after Physics was axed as was Materials Science, they then started to do Sports Science and the physics technician supported the new subject.
In those days the student numbers on the biology courses were about 100 but when I retired it was more like 1000.
