I started feeling really unwell on Friday and was in the loo all night and most of Saturday - so sick. My brother took me to A&E who diagnosed the lovely Norovirus and gave me a course of pills and summat to reduce the nausea. O happy day! Stayed in bed yesterday and haven't moved much today either as I still feel a bit weak.

Why is it so many of my health problems these days are 'plumbing' related?

Sorry to hear that you've been ill Alison. I hope that you feel much better very soon. Big hugs xx

Totally sympathise with you Alison, I had it too a couple of years ago and I felt absolutely terrible for about four days.

On the upside I did lose nearly half a stone 😱

Hope you feel better soon.

Oh nooooo!

Sorry to hear that Alison. Hope you are back on top form very soon.

I think it's fair to say I have a pretty good idea of how you must feel :( I hope that you recover much more quickly than me! Out of interest, what pills were you given? I've been given Stemetil 5mg (Prochlorperazine Maleate) for the sickness.

Sorry to hear that Alison. Hope it's short-lived and you recover quickly. 🙂

Hope your plumbing is robust, AlisonM and sorts itself out quicker than Northerner's (although we don't know if he had Norovirus). Start on oral rehydration drinks sooner, rather than waiting until you're really dehydrated / electrolyte unbalanced!

Thanks everyone.

I am drinking as much as I can Copepod, and it's starting to stay down now. I have some of those fortified juice things they gave me before the recent surgery and will drink those as soon as I think things are settled enough. I think it could be a day or two before I'm interested in anything solid.

Glad to hear you're drinking what you can, AlisonM. Best to drink sips - little and often - rather than gulps, that fill your stomach and that can make you feel sick. You won't come to any harm if you can't eat solids for a day or so, as long as you drink enough and keep it down.

Get well soon.

Sounds nasty Alison, hope you're feeling much better soon! 🙂

Oh dear Alison, I know exactly how you feel (yuk!). I hope it follows the usual Noro trend and goes away in a day or so.
