non-diabetic hba1c

I have seen the DR Bernstein video on youtube where he says that non diabetic A1c's are 4.6% and that it's easy for type 1's to achieve that.

What will be interesting is the research into people with glucokinase mutation diabetes, people wioth this run higher than normal A1c's and have above normal fasting results, however they don't get spikes in blood sugar, so have very stable blood sugars. It is thought that they don't get diabetic complications. If this is right then it will show that stability is as important as a low A1c.

I know for me having my A1c above 6% virtually eliminates hypos for me, so Myself and my team are happy to keep it 6-6.5
