got well into Werthington original no sugar butter candies but GP has advised me against all of that too , that's fine re 'diet' drinks as i just love my water but i had been enjoying the sweeties every so often ...any thoughts folks ?

Some of the sugar free sweets the sweeteners can cause upset tummies if you eat to many.

It's probably because too many of those no/low sugar alternatives cause the runs. I enjoy a couple without too much of a problem. I like the butterscotch sugar free sweets from M&S and I drink loads of sugar free lemonade and Diet Coke without issues.

thanks amigo I knew about the tummy problems they cause but he seemed to be suggesting they might not be too good for my BS i suppose its his way of telling me to be very careful as my BS increased so dramatically

If you have weight to lose he could be thinking that you think low/no sugar means low calorie. The calories are usually just as high as the sugar laden sweets.

Aha that might be .....i didn't think of that thank you 🙂
