I’m one of the people on the 12 week shielding list and how I wish I didn't need to be. However it’s not because I’m diabetic. Frankly it wouldn’t occur to me that diabetes would qualify me. I‘m immunocompromised as the result of leukaemia which is essentially cancer of the immune system. I think this high risk group have been very carefully and sensibly chosen.

My father had leukemia .he has survived it and is vuleranable as his immune system is now very low. I shop for him and my mum but cannot go in their house anymore obviously. My mother is diabetic. The point i made is not about wether or not one has diabetes andvwether its more if scrisk than other diseases its what coronavirus does to us with diabetes. Diabetes is what it is.it weakens our immune system and we are at risk of severe complications. Thats it really.

Only if you do not look after it.
I have lived not survived 55 years of type1 diabetes.
Perhaps calm down take a deep breath and breath before you have a heart attack or a stroke from the worry.

Youve not got the point.never mind.

You know what, i put this on to initially help for thise who are diabetic and at work .having diabetes is what it is . We cannot cobtrol what happens to us once we get corinavirus.but from what i am reading on the global news including uk news from the health organisations we are more likely to get serious complications regardless of how well we managevit. So they could have considered self isolation to be included in n diabetics. Plus less deaths for the nhs to deal with. I think now this thread is so typical as online forums goes of on a tangent. Best to end it.

This thread does seem to be going round in circles a bit now, so I'm going to lock it to further posts.
