I've been there Nikki.

I find it easier not to do this if others in the house know I have chocolate - it really slows down the rate at which I get through it. It does cause some issues as when I have sweet things to treat a hypo I get called an evil diabetic (allegedly as a joke) - then I get upset.

Edited to add - Certain times of the month seem to lend themselves to eating chocolate.

Could you try letting someone know you have it - and see what happens - no cheating and buying extra though.

I think i just need to stop buying the stuff! but yes certain times of the month i tend to eat for england haha!

Also i blame the pound shop for their wide variety of chocolate! lol i shall now avoid on the way home! 😛

I find it best to have none at all - I could eat a box of chocs at one go . But , another way could be to give your stash to someone eg partner and ask for a certain amount when you 'need' it. They could hide the rest ready for the next time ...?
I am at this moment having my fruit crumble at Wetherspoons - my weekly treat , I have to walk about a mile and a half round trip and really look forward to it and enjoy it , naughty though it is !!

It works for me to make it a bit of an effort !!

Just occasionally (very rarely) I would have a cup of Cadbury's Highlights drinking chocolate. I've tried Boots diabetic chocolate but it's expensive and just because its says "no added sugar" doesn't mean no sugar at all.

All in all, I couldn't care less about chocolate.

I am exactly the same, I am incapable of eating a littlembit of something. I try to just not buy things at all, but that is a bit miserable.

I do this sometimes too although I'm much better than I used to be! When I first got to uni I felt lonely as I was very close to my family so I would comfort eat a lot, I didn't realise I was doing it at the time but now I look back I was eating a ridiculous amount of chocolate and cheese! If I get chocolate now, I go for a very dark, good quality chocolate as it is very rich and I only need a nibble to satisfy my cravings 🙂

Have you tried dark chocolate? Something like the 85%
Very few carbs and only a few squares are enough to fill you up.
Experiment with it as well.
Melt in a pan add some sweetener if to bitter and some nuts or flavouring. then make little blobs on some grease proof paper and pop in the fridge.

Breakfast treat

I've recently discovered Jordan's Country Crisp cereal which includes oats (the good bit) and 70% dark chocolate flakes (the best sort if we must indulge). I'd got thoroughly sick of porridge and this is heavenly!

D_G, I had to smile reading your post, I do exactly the same thing. I will buy some chocolate and put it in my desk drawer at work so I can have a little bit at lunch time every day. I almost NEVER have any left by Friday, sometimes not even by Tuesday 😱 shocking self control, but at least we're not alone!

Like your blog by the way 🙂

MY Downfall is crisps love them 🙄

I seem to be ok since Dx - before I could go through bars of the stuff in a sitting - but I got a few bits from cybercandy a few weeks ago - and I've still got a pack of good n plenty left!
