No Nuts - Big spike..

As of late I eat a handful of nuts (About 25g - 30g) weight with my breakfast, and with my Lunch. Ive found this greatly aids spikes I suffer with the fat slowing down the breakdown of carbs.

Today I forgot my nuts at lunch!!!! And suffered a spike on the 1.75 hour mark to the tune of 15.8mmol.

I was fairly sure they made a big difference to me, but now im certain, and I welcome this spike as a confirmation to myself. Admittedly, I may have incorrectly carb counted by 5 or 6g of carb, but this would only mean a 1 or 2mmol rise in sugars.. Not a 15er.
 
at least it gives you pointers and shows you waht to look for

Nice when you get some confirmation of something you've suspected for a while.

Will you try to replicate/reproduce that effect one more time for scientific curiosity?

I'd forget my own nuts if they weren't in a bag.

I also have a handful of Brazil nuts (actually they are seeds) daily and I find they stave off hunger and stabilise my BG's as well as helping with healthy bowel movements.

I dont sport a particular nut.. mixed walnuts brazil almonds peanuts and hazlenuts for me! Would be interesting as an experiment to do at breakfast where i mix them with a smaller amount of carbs. I find this way I dont spike at all so at 2 hours ill be where i starte dbefore brek.. and at 4 again there or therebouts. I suspect without the nuts would see me rise and fall
