Another Type 1 member and myself were both taught in the beginning of being diabetic that if you have a snack of under 10g of carbs in-between meals that you don't need to take insulin for it
- have any other members been taught this and if so is this just for people on a pump or for people on mdi too?

Yes, I was told that (for MDI). I think the idea is not to worry too much about small things. So if you get a little biscuit with your coffee in a cafe, don't worry about eating it and no, you don't need to bolus for it.

That really depends on what coffee you’re drinking. A medium latte in Costa is 16g carb, if you’re having a 10g carb biscuit on top then whilst the biscuit alone might be fine, in combination with the latte then you’re at 26g carb and should consider bolusing, depending on what your bg and activity levels are like of course.

If you’re having a black Americano and a 10g biscuit you might make a different decision and not bother bolusing. But again it depends on your blood sugar, if you’re 18mmol and having a 10g carb biscuit, you’re more insulin resistant at higher levels and might want to bolus for it.

Yes, that's quite true. Much as I like Costa coffee, some of the cups are bathtub sized.

I was thinking of a more normal small cup of cappuccino with small (included) biscuits.
