Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Hi, apologies if I've done this wrong as I've just joined.

I'm a 45 year old female with Type 1 diabetes. I was diagnosed aged 12 after my mum noticed I was always thirsty and losing weight. Being a Type 1 diabetic herself she knew the signs and got me to the dr and so my life as a diabetic began.

I consider myself as fit and healthy as the next person. I should test my blood more often and attend my appointments more often but sometimes life gets in the way.

Welcome @Tartanlass.🙂 it may pay you to start your own thread but thankyou for joining.

Hello @Tartanlass

I‘ve split your post into its own thread so that you will get better responses. 🙂

Welcome to the forum!

Thankyou, apologise for hacking someone's post. I'll hopefully get the hang of it soon lol.

Don't worry about it Tartanlass. One of the nicest things about this forum is that the members are non-critical almost to a man (and woman). I guess its because everybody knows what it is like to come across something new and that guidance rather than criticism is needed to help somebody new to sort things out. That's because they have all been there with their diabetes. Its what makes the forum such a valuable resource.

No problem at all!

Forums can be confusing places for the first few days, but soon enough you’ll be pointing other new members in the right direction and offering them support and encouragement 🙂
