Just a update as its been a while since opening post and the initial shock is now over, I have come to terms I have diabetes for the rest of my life and what I am doing now has to continue.

January readings have averaged out for the whole month at 6.1 - just a day and a half to go, hypod 3 times but that was when I had a cold at the beginning of the month, not hypod since 7th Jan.

I have been reading the book - Type 1 Diabetes by Dr Ragnar Hanas and its a amazing book, so much to learn and still so much to read. I am constantly looking at the carbs & calories book and continue to check labels on food when go shopping.

visits to hospital appointments are going well, I am coming up with questions all the time and the Diabetes Nurses are fabulous, they cannot believe my readings are that good, neither can I and all I have done is cut out the sugary stuff - sweets, buns, cakes, pizzas, and reduced portion size.

everything is logged in a diary and a spreadsheet... I really do feel so much better than I did before diagnosed.
