Don't mind my veggies and salad it just doesn't fill me up.
I'd been around 11 all day yesterday had a small portion of lasagne for tea with a few chips and nothing else. Bang 23 2 hour later.
It's soul destroying.
I totally get it but there's a lot of carbs in lasagne and chips! There are pasta alternatives but personally I find them expensive and disgusting!! Try and base your evening meals around protein and vegetables. I have one or two new potatoes as nothing will stop me enjoying Jersey New potatoes!! Good Luck

It might be less disheartening if you test at 2 hours rather than 1 but non the less you had 2 quite high carb foods.
Incidentally what lasagne sheets do you use that are gluten free, I can only find the edamame bean pasta as fettuccini.
Veg with the lasagne rather than chips would be better.
All supermarkets sell gluten free pasta sheets. They are with all the other free from foods 🙂

Not sure about the pasta but gluten free is often not the same as low carb, in fact sometimes the gluten free alternative is even higher carbs. Check before you buy it’s what you need/hope it is buy looking at the nutritional panel and ingredients list.

Yes you are right, I don't eat Pasta anymore but hubby does!! It's hard being gluten free as I make most of my food from scratch. Difficult to measure carbs, especially in the flatbreads and pitta I make!!

Count the carbs in the ingredients as a whole. Divide by number of breads made?.?

Maybe go by the reaction to them - assuming that you use the same recipe every time and make the same number of dough discs. People vary in their response to foods, so there are no hard and fast rules.

Yes absolutely, I use pasta made from edamame beans or black bean but you can only seem to get it as fettuccini or spaghetti which is low carb and gluten free. I found gluten free lasagne sheets but they seem to to be made from pea, lentil or corn and rice flour so not particularly low carb in fact not much different to the wheat based ones.
Shame.

I think it was one of the Hairy Bikers programs when they were trying to reduce their weight, they made a thicker than the usual sauce for lasagne and then layered it with leek tubes, a fat leek, slit down one side and delaminated, the layers were dipped in hot water to soften them, dried off and then used instead of pasta sheets.
The skinny inner of the leek was sliced and added to the sauce.
It was considered a winner recipe as no one realised it was actually the start of the dieting.

Moussaka is also constructed in a similar way to lasagne but with slices of aubergine so will work out much lower carb. I made some last week, estimated 500 calories and 19g carb for a generous portion.

Yes I often make moussaka with just the aubergine or aubergine slippers which work well.
Sliced courgette or thin slices of butternut squash would work instead of the pasta.
