Hello it’s all a bit much for me at the moment trying to understand what my daughter can eat and drink

Morning Cainzy, sorry to hear that you're struggling a bit, can you tell us what type of diabetes your daugher has? That'll make it easier to give tailored advice.
Best wishes, Sarah

Welcome.
There are a few parents/carers on here but if you could give a bit more information about your daughter. How old is she and how long has she been diagnosed, is she on any medication or insulin, does she have any technology for monitoring. Do you have the support of a specialist diabetic team.
Sorry for all the questions but this will all help people give you relevant advice.

Thank you Sarah my daughter has type 1.

Thanks Cainzy. @Leadinglights had some other questions about insulin etc which'll help with the answers you get. I'm afraid as a type 2, I'm not much use answering your questions, but the much more knowledgable T1s will be able to help.
Best wishes, Sarah

Ok thanks for replying back I’m sure I’ll get the answers I’m looking thanks again.

If you sign up for the learning zone you can find out more information there, but I'm sure T1 people will pitch in when they sign into this forum next 🙂.

Welcome @Cainzy there’s no reason your daughter should be resticted on what she can eat ( unless she has allergies ) As soon as you can carb count you can then learn to alter the insulin dose to the amount of carbs

Thanks for your reply yeah just need to get my head around the carb counting.

How old is she? How long ago was she diagnosed? Which insulins is she using? How is she handling it all?

There is a very good book available written in plain English specifically for parents of young children called
