Welcome to the forum @Paco

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis, which you are managing alongside other autoimmune conditions. With your rapid weight loss and onset of blurry vision, I am wondering whether you are T1, rather than T2. Many GPS assume that it must be T2 in Adults, but there are many onhere who have been diagnosed with T1 later in life. I was 53. If this is the case your glucose levels will continue to rise. Are you able to get a blood glucose test kit so that you can monitor your levels at home. If your levels are high it would also be good to check for ketones.

Contact the GP again. Can you weigh yourself so that he has that information as well as the blurry eyes. The Practices are still able to do blood tests where needed.

Let us know how you get on.

2 stone in weight is a lot to lose if you didn’t have much ‘spare’ to begin with. And it is a LOT to lose if you weren’t really working at it with a strict diet.

It does sound like further investigations into your diabetes type would be very wise.

You can buy urine ketone strips from high street pharmacies for approx £5 for a pot of 50, which while not as immediate and accurate as blood strips, would certainly show if you were producing ketones, which might build up into diabetic ketoacidosis, a potentially very serious condition.

If you get a ‘pear drop’ smell on your breath or abdominal pains/vomiting please take urgent action and go to A&E.

I don't want to alarm you, and this may all be nothing, but undiagnosed T1 can be a pretty nasty business, so it’s just good to take precautions.
