Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Hey, 34 year old bricklayer here had type 1 diabetes for 21 years now. Wondering is there many/any other type 1 diabetic bricklayers out there. ..

Welcome to the forum @Sambo34 from another T1 but not a bricklayer. We only tried that once on a very small wall in our garden!! What a skill and you make it LOOK easy but !!

How do you manage your diabetes. Are you on a pump or injections?
We look forward to hearing more from you.

Welcome to the forum @Sambo34

We have had a few members who work in the building trade over the years @HOBIE hasn’t been around so much recently, but worked as an electrician for years and was always a very keen advocate of pump therapy.

Are you using anything like Freestlye Libre or a CGM to help you with the physical nature of your work where regular fingerstick monitoring might be trickier?

Hello and welcome. 🙂

I miss Hobie!

hi, well to be honest with you not sure how much longer I can keep bricklaying. I don't think I do manage my diabetes at all. Bit being self employed if the trowels not moving then your not earning. So it's a case of don't think about just keep goin. I'm not on any insulin pump I use pens
