Hi,everybody this is the 2nd time Ive had type 2 diabetes..lost 23lbs then wasnt diabetic any more.went on to lose 4st..but gradually went back on.
Blood sugars went up in jan this yr to 77,nurse said watch your carbs, I go to WW every wk...phoned docs 5wks ago as I had a raging thirst...very dry mouth..no apppetite and no taste..put me on metaformin again..said should really have a blood test but cant because of the virus...Having no probs with tablets..got to eventually get up to 4 tablets a day..anyway Ive lost 24lbs since January..still got no appetite or taste..and also got oral thrush ..
 
What amount of carbohydrate are you eating during a day?
Weightloss is not much help if you have high blood glucose levels due to a high intake of starch and sugar.

Well done on the weight loss - sorry to hear you gained it back.

The thirst and thrush do sound as if you may be running quite high BG. :(

Cutting right back on your carb intake (not just sweet and sugary things, but all carbohydrates including bread, pasta, rice, grains, bakery items, cereals, potatoes and many fruits) would be a change you could make which could help reduce your BG during lockdown.

You may find that lowering carb intake allows you to eat more ‘good fats’ and protein, while still losing weight, and may become more of a permanent way of eating than a stop-start diet.

You are in a similar situation to the one I experienced a few years ago.
I had been a yo-yo dieter for years, and spent much time and money going to the various weight loss organisation, and eventually ended up being diagnosed with diabetes.
The shock of that made be look for a more permanent solution to weight loss that I could sustain.
It took a while to find it, but I eventually found the combination of diet and exercise that worked, and have now sustained this for several years.
We are all different and you need to find out what works for you and is sustainable.

For me this is what worked:
As well as cutting out all the sugary things, I cut down on the carbs particularly the ‘white’ ones (white bread and flour,rice,pasta,etc ) and mainly eat fresh fish and poultry, some dairy, and have learned to love vegetables. I limit fruit to 1 portion a day (usually berries), I also try to avoid too much processed food, and to include plenty of fibre some from the veg, plus seeds and pulses. There are many good recipes to make these things really tasty.

If you want to know more about this way of eating, I would suggest starting by reading Maggie Davey's letter, which gives a lot of information on how this lady approached the problem.
