Hi. Newbie to the forum. Does anyone know of a good free carb calculator app please.

Hi @GazzBod and welcome to the forum.
There are several other parents and carers on the forum whom I am sure will be happy to share experiences and information if you wish.

Personally I haven't managed to find an app that I have liked, but have a counter book that I use a lot. This is http://www.carbsandcals.com/books/carb-calorie-counter which I find very colourful and well presented and easy to use.

I am sure though that there will be other members along that know of an app that they can recommend..

Hi. Newbie to the forum. Does anyone know of a good free carb calculator app please.
Welcome to the forum GazzBod. I am glad that you have found us.

I have only ever used the Carbs and Cals book, and now the app for my phone. It is easy to use and include pictures of portion sizes. I only use it when we are out and about. At home we weigh and calculate. Sorry not to be able to offer any other ideas.

Same for me @GazzBod Carbs and Cals book for home app when out, welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum @GazzBod

I tend to get by squinting at packets and on guesstimating things by eye - it was what we were told to do back in the day 🙂 (eg one ‘hens egg’ sized potato = 10g carbs)

I did have an old carbs-per-100g ingredients book from way back in the early years too.

I would certainly have gone for ‘carbs and cals’ if it had been available at the time.
