Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Hello,

I'm Lynsey. I'm 24, living in London and have just 'celebrated' my 18th diaversary. I was diagnosed as T1 aged 6 in July 1999.
Currently on MDI (Novorapid and Levemir) but I was using a pump until it gave up on me in December 2016, but my control has been much better since.
I've had a rocky year - I'm now taking Ramipril for Microalbuminuria and I've been throgh 5 eye operations to re-attach my retinas, due to proliferative diabetic retinopathy and multiple haemorrhages.
Joining the forum for peer support - I find it's the best therapy! Looking forward to getting involved.

Hi LynseyC . Welcome to the forum. Best thing I ever did , well nearly :D was joining this forum.
I look forward to seeing you around.
Feel free to ask questions people here will do their best to help.

Hi Lynsey 🙂

Hi Lynsey and welcome! 🙂

I went through eye surgery (vitrectomy) for a severe hemorrhage and various laser treatments in the other eye last year so I can fully appreciate what a rocky time it can be. Hope your eyes are doing better now!

P.S Happy diaversary 😛

Hi Lynsey, welcome to the forum 🙂 I look forward to hearing more from you 🙂

Hi Lynsey and welcome to the gang 🙂

Hello and welcome @LynseyC, glad you found us 🙂

I hope your eyes are behaving themselves better for you after all the surgeries. I've also been through the roller coaster challenges of retinal haemorrhages, vitrectomies, and the rest. It really does shake your world upside down.

This forum is a fantastic place for help, support and a good rant about diabetes when the need arises 🙂

Hi LynseyC!

Hello Lynsey welcome to the forum, congratulations on your 18th diaversary. 🙂
