Thank you, good I am trying to get into to doing more social media/diabetes related things, currently on maternity leave after having my second child so have some time to research about new diabetes innovations. I think it's too easy to get lost in the system these days especially if you are seen to be managing things.

That's very true - we've had people come here in the past who had been diagnosed fr a couple of decades and hadn't heard of insulin pumps or carb counting! As you say, they were assumed to be managing things, which maybe they were, but that's no reason not to keep them up to date! 🙂

Hi from a newbie & newbie type 2.
I specifically asked my Diabetes Nurse yesterday about controlling carbs. Got nothing about controlling, management, counting, restricted, low or anything. Come away and as fare as I know I can eat all the potatoes, bread & rice I want. Well portion size was mentioned.
Sorry if should have gone in thread I started yesterday.

Welcome & do post. I sure you've got things to tell us.

Hello and welcome MrsR83 🙂

I think there is an assumption that if you've had diabetes for a long time and/or are managing then nothing needs updating or changing. There is some great technology out there and it's good to know what's available.

Welcome to the forum MrsR83 🙂

Hiya Andrea and welcome.🙂

Thanks all, I was offered to change insulin mid way through my most recent pregnancy but I declined at the time because I didn't want to upset the balance. This was the first time in about 8 years I'd been offered something new...crazy when you think of all the new drugs, tools in the past few years. Diabetes care is lazy or at least they are in my area, hence why I thought I'd do the investigating myself!
