Hello ! Im my husband carer & in the past couple of months he was diagnosed has type 1 , a huge shock. So I’m on a learning curve with this additional element of care , I take care of all his medication

He’s on insulin 21 units & metformin twice daily, he’s to be reassessed in early February, to see if he needs to go onto fact acting insulin with every meal .

Which insulins has your husband been precribed?

Two resources which are frequently recommended for newcomers to the world of T1 are:

Type 1 Diabetes in Children Adolescents and Young People by Ragnar Hanas - ignore the title, this is suitable for people of all ages!

Think Like a Pancreas by Gary Scheiner (written by a US specialist in a chatty style)
