Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi, I’m Dave and I’m a newbie to this site and type 2 diabetes. I’m looking forward to learning and understanding a little more from this forum. Thank you,
Dave.

Welcome to the forum
There will be lots you will be able to glean by reading some of the posts and having a look at the Learning zone, however a bit more information about your diagnosis, what your HbA1C is, what if any medications you have been prescribed and if you need to lose weight if you are willing to share as that will help people make appropriate comments.
There are many ways that people manage their diabetes and that can depend on a number of factors as one way may suit some people but not others.
But whatever you choose has to be enjoyable otherwise it will be hard to sustain for the long term, people should regard it as a new way of eating which is what it needs to be.
This link may have an approach which suits you, it is low carbohydrate based on real food, that is generally suggested as being less than 130g per day total carbs not just 'sugar' https://lowcarbfreshwell.co.uk/.
This of course may depend on any medications you are on and how far you are into the diabetes zone.
Please feel free to ask any questions as many people do not get much support from their GP surgery and are left confused with what they are supposed to be doing.

Hi and welcome to the forum @Daveb6161 the people on here have a wealth of experience and knowledge that they are willing to share, there is also a lot of information on the main site I would suggest having a read of some of the threads and a look around the learning zone - orange button at the top of the page.

Thank you for your kind reply Wannie.

Hello and welcome. 🙂

Welcome to the forum @Daveb6161

How have things been going so far? Anything you are finding particularly difficult or confusing?

Hi, I haven’t really had time to have look around yet but will do so soon.
Thank you.
