I get 4 boxes of strips and there's 12 repeat scrips at a time authorised. I don't use that many every single month so I don't usually order any until I'm down to the last 2 boxes. It's much the same as the amount of insulin on a repeat - what if you are ill and therefore need shedloads more until you're over whatever it is - let alone adjusting it when we eat more or less carbs, different amount every day - so you calculate your heaviest use day, add on all the individual airshots and multiply by 30, then round it UP to the next convenient amount to store it in. be that boxes of 5 (cartridges or disposable pens) or vials.

Libre sensors should be 13 repeats, cos 12 means you'll be 4 short anyway though some years have 53 weeks not 52. The NHS seems to work on the basis that all months only have 28 days - very rare now to get tablets that are not dispensed in 28s!
