Type 2
Hi all

I am type 2 diabetic (diagnosed 5 years ago) and I am currently attempting my first low carb diet.

I am not having any success (but only in day 4) and my BG is all over the place - lowest reading was a one off 9.9, the rest all being between 15 and 17.

Can anyone advise what I may be doing wrong, or is it just that this type of diet is no good for me.

medication is 2000mg metformin per day.

regards

Keef.

Hi Keef, welcome to the forum 🙂 What are you eating and when do you test? It might be useful if you could give a description of your menu so that we have some idea what might be causing the high levels despite the low carbs. What are your fasting/waking and pre-meal levels like?

Welcome to the forums Keef 🙂

Hi Keef, welcome to the forum.

I am trying a low carb diet and in the process of testing before and after meals to see what sends my BG up. Takes a lot of test strips though, can you get yours on prescription?

Hi keef. Welcome.🙂

Interesting to see how you get on. I hope things settle down soon.🙂

Hi Northerner, I have been tracking my Carb intake + BG levels using CoPilot
- maybe if I post the readings it will give you a clue ?

thanks for the warm welcome to the forum

Hi Slipper, I managed to get my last pack of test strips on prescription but as you say - takes a lot so won't be long before Ihave to order some more.
