Hi all,
I was diagnosed type 1 insulin dependent towards the end of last year (2014) following a course of chemo' when 2 of the drugs damaged the pancreas. But, hey ho I received excellent support from the hospital, on initial admission, and with subsequent clinics. There's also no problem in getting all my testing kits freely prescribed.
Not letting diabetes rule my life I'm walking a 1/2 marathon (20k), on 17th June raising funds or this site for Diabetes UK.
I know it's only been 5 months but I'm looking forward to continuing to enjoy my retirement and diabetes will just be a part of it.
