Welcome to the forum, sorry to hear of your stroke, things like that can play havoc with what was well managed blood glucose levels. The most powerful thing in trying to manage levels is your diet. What may have worked well may now need reviewing in terms of your carbohydrate intake.
As you have a blood glucose monitor, you can test at home to see if there are any foods and meals which are causing the problem.
This link may help you re-evaluate your diet and find a way forward to make some changes. It is a low carbohydrate approach that many have found successful. https://lowcarbfreshwell.co.uk/
However you must take into consideration the medications you are taking and any other medical needs.
Have you had a recent HbA1C test to see just where you are now, what sort of morning readings are you getting.

Welcome to the forum @sweetcheeks

Sorry to hear about your stroke - hopefully you’ve got a recovery plan in place to help with the fallout from that. Was your digestion affected much? And how about mobility?

A stroke can play absolute havoc as @Leadinglights says, and recovery from any illness or injury (even just stress) can throw a spanner in the works BG-wise.

Hopefully you can find a new balance of menu and meds to get things motoring along again. How long have you been trying out new potions? And which are you trying?

Hi, thanks for your reply, the stroke seems to have effected most things, but not only my diabetes, but my bladder is now distorted and I am unable to empty my bladder completely,I now have to use a catheter,Ive had a continuous UTI since last August ,specialist had thoughts of cancer after 3 investigative ops and biopsies that was ruled out,I think Ive been on every antibiotics there is going, latest additive this week to help control my Diabetes is Januvia,to help bring down my early morning highs.which can be sometimes as high as 16,so as you can see its a struggle at the moment

Oh dear you have had a difficult time, sadly people with catheters are prone to UTIs, my OH had that issue as he had to have a catheter while waiting for prostate surgery. Getting the right antibiotic seems crucial. Obviously not helped by high blood glucose so trying to get that down should help all round.
Have another look at your diet and see if there is anything you can change there that will help.
