Hi all, just came across this forum to see how people are coping on the path to remission programme which I started almost 7 weeks ago. Lost 1st 12lb in that time but just wondering if anyone has any experience in the next stage?
Thanks!

Hi @Cbaptiste and welcome to the forum 🙂 Well done losing that amount in so short a time!

The next step is to make it maintainable. I never thought I'd gone on a "diet" despite losing 5 stones. Since diagnosis I've always known that whatever I do needs to be practical on a daily basis to maintain my hba1c of 39 (it was 76 to start with). It's been a lifestyle change, and for the better. I eat more nutritional food and I walk about 8 miles a day.

I don't label myself as in remission, but I do know that I'm happier and healthier than I've been for years which is what motivates me to keep on at it!

Welcome to the forum @Cbaptiste

We have a number of members who have tried varying weight loss approaches (or low carb ways of eating) to aim for remission.

There are some of their stories, particularly those have used the soup and shake approach (either as part of the NHS programme or under their own steam) in this section of the forum
