Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi. I have been diabetic for 6 years. The first three years i controlled it by diet . Then the doc put me on metformin, which didn't agree with me so they put me on Empagliflozin. At first they helped me to lose weight but now i need to lose a lot of weight , but my stomach can't handle any type of veg or fruit , which, in turn makes it very difficult to lose any weight. Does anyone one have any advise . I am at my wits end here as to what to do for the best.

Welcome to the forum. It does sound tricky to balance your intolerance to things that most people rely on to bulk out meals which are based on meat, fish, eggs. cheese, with only small portions of high carb foods.
Are you able to tolerate vegetables in the form of soups as they could make low carb fulfilling options or pureed fruits like berries incorporated into sugarfree jelly.
You might be able to pick out some ideas from this link which will help you modify your diet https://lowcarbfreshwell.co.uk/

Thank you for reply. At the moment at least, i can't tolerate veg or fruit in any form and this is why i am finding it hard to eat as i should be. I have had a look at the link you put up and there is some interesting things on there, i will continue to look through it. I am off to see the doctor tomorrow , so hopefully she will be able to suggest something or give me something to settle my stomach. Thank you again for your reply and advice, much appreciated .

Sorry to hear you are struggling to find fruit and veg you can manage @louise evans :(

Are you getting an upset stomach with them? Or other symptoms?

Was the Dr able to offer any helpful suggestions?

Do you think you may be experiencing a form of IBS? Are you under particular stress at the moment? Or have you always has difficulty with fruit and veg?
