Relationship to Diabetes
Parent of person with diabetes
Hi all..I am from Fermanagh in Northern ireland and have 2 daughters. One aged 4 and my other girl is 2, and she was diagnosed at 22 months with type 1 diabetes, that was in March. We just spent a marvellous weekend with other parents and kids from Northern ireland, at the Diabetes family weekend, and from that I know diabetes is much larger than my daughter....it's not just about her...there's a whole community out there for me and her, and for her future I'm going to become more involed in it...even if it only means going on this forum..so here I am🙂

Well welcome to the forum Pauly74,

I have 2 girls too, 10 and 4, my youngest has diabetes and I joined this forum for support and info, and it does just the job :D

Does your little one have a pump or do you inject.

Look forward to seeing you posting!

Hello Paul,
welcome to the forum, glad to hear you had a good week end, and yep there's a lot of us type 1's about. :D

Weclome pauly74.

As others have said, there are plenty of members who survived childhoods with type 1 diabetes to become happy & healthy adults. There are several members from Northern Ireland, which is useful for some specific issues eg NHS, driving licences, as I know from my 6 months researching chemical incidents in Northern Ireland in 1998 🙂
