Type 2
has anyone else diagnosed with type 2 had problems with using there does of Metformin, or did I just panic been on it now for three weeks tried to up my does to 1 in morning 2 at night but had a funny turn last Monday when I came over all light headed and had a funny butterfly feeling in the chest. Got really upset and panicked.

Possibly a false hypo if your BG levels have been coming down rapidly... Nausea is listed as a side effect but more commonly we have bowel issues😱😉

I would agree with Martin false hypo

It can take some time to adjust to taking medication regularly Tina, try not to worry.

The only way to know for sure would have been to confirm your BG level with a meter when you felt strange. As others have said, when the body is used to higher levels people can get the symptoms of hypoglycaemia when BG is close to the bottom of the healthy range.

If it was a false hypo a small amount of fast acting carbs (just one or two boiled sweets) should be enough to help the feelings to pass.
