Hello my name is pat need help with get back on track sugers all over the place when to GP he just said I need to sort it out as diabetes is a killer I put on lot weight have had diabetes 19 years on inclin 18
 
Hi. Welcome. Sounds like your GP wasnt at all helpful. We're a supportive bunch here, so you won't get a brow beating etc from us, we know we can and do fall off the wagon at times and sometimes we need a bit of help getting back on.
Can you tell us where your having problems
 
For the frist time in my grown up life I live on my own and loving the freedom eating what I want going out all so buying all the wrong thing to eat but today I said no more I need to be good try to do health eaten thank you

Sort of rebelling as well I expect too 🙂. I've done it too, Trouble is all those naughty things are so addictive aren't they.

Yes but I work with a young woman she deibetic as well and she ask to be lose weight with her so said yes so from to day no More c**p so will keep you posted

Hi @Mommybarnes, welcome to the forum. Do have a look at the links Ljc posted above as they are very helpful, and have lots of good suggestions. Main thing is to reduce starchy carbs like bread, potatoes, pasta and rice. It helps to lose weight and do some exercise if possible. It's good that you have a friend at work, cos it's so nice to be able to support one another - which is one of the best things about this place! Tell us a bit more, or ask any questions, and we'll try and help. Have you ever been given a meter?

Yes but have not been testing as I know my sugers was hie I am stop bread from to day to see that helps

That's a good start but without testing you won't see the difference - and it's encouraging to see the numbers actually coming down, which should make things easier to cope with 🙂
