Welcome to the forum @Chris70
Glad that you have found us.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

Hi I’ve been diabetic for 3yrs now after I was diagnosed ,I got it under control within 6 months and off all meds, my doctor said that’s un heard of I have taken that for granted I haven’t tested myself for over a year, since the virus has hit I’ve started to eat more ,my morning sugar levels are 7.6 before breakfast my evening meal after 2hrs is 8.5 would you class this as high sugar levels thanks in advance chris

@Chris70 Hi and welcome to the forum

I'm not quite sure why your doctor has said that's unheard of as there are quite a few that can manage on just diet and exercise without even trying medication and there are also a lot of Type 2's that with hard work and effort can come off medication so its not really unheard of

They are higher levels than you want to be seeing but not dramatically high, maybe just try reigning the carbs in a bit and see if they come back down to more acceptable in range levels
xx

Hello @Chris70 welcome to the forum.

I agree with @Kaylz we have members who have gone into remission of T2 Diabetes, carbs are what you need to reduce.
As @SB2015 says ask any question you like we are here to help.

Thanks for your reply’s ,I am now on a mission with the carbs ,I think I’ve got to comfortable with my diabetes after the doc told me my sugar levels were really good and my numbers were lower than pre diabetic, I don’t have nothing much with sugar in it , carbs are the problem, starting testing again has given me a wake up call ,not being able to have my annual check isn’t helping,I will get back on top of it again but this time I will stay on top of it .

My doctor was amazed how quick I reversed it as my sugar levels were really high to begin with

Yes but if nobody has done an HbA1c test recently - NOBODY knows how well or how badly you are currently doing, do they? - it's purely guesswork.

Well that’s the problem not knowing!!! I think that’s why I’m abit freaked out at the moment,it’s always a relief when I have my annual review and everything is ok ,I’ve got a telephone appointment the 22nd June I think I’ll be calmer after that
