Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
I’m 35 and I’ve had type 1 for 7 years, always seemed to cope well even tho leading a very busy working/partying life. Over the last 6 months tho I’ve started to find it a lot harder to control. Started with a freestyle libra which is amazing, but my reading maybe aren’t. I’m 48 % , 43 in target and 11 below. I still do live a fast life. Are they really bad stats?

Impossable to say! With the Libra, the target range can be set. If uoy set the range tight say 5.5 to 6.5 the results would be very good indeed, setting it to 4.0 to 13.0 would make the same results very poor!

If you send the results to a health care team, they will be able to advise on any changes that should be made. They will also be much better able yo answer your question.

Welcome to the site and good luck with the Libre.

setting it to 4.0 to 13.0 would make the same results

Interestingly (and irrelevantly), the software (at least, the Reader and the official Android app) won't let you set that range. Lowest is 3.9 and highest is 10.0.

You are right! Just tried it, one can get away with nothing on this forum.

The setting, on the reader at least, does not do much, just used to say "in range" or not, so matters little.

Interestingly, and not relevant here, my sensor says 7.4 and finger prick says 9.0, I shall change the sensor later in the morning.

Hi @Thefarmer and welcome to the forum 🙂

When you say you are finding it harder to control in which aspects do you mean exactly? controlling spikes? staying in range? etc

What is your target range set at for the Libre? are they close to a finger prick reading?
xx
