Hi type 1 since 1985. On an insulin pump (Minimed 640G) since February 2019. Here to find out more about living with a pump.

Hello @riddler and welcome to the forum.
We have a pump forum so have a delve in there as well for extra info.
How are you getting on with your pump?

Welcome @riddler

You will have seen a few changes over the years since your diagnosis.
I am using a different pump from yours but the principles are the same with each.

The best advice I had from others on here was to work on getting your basal rates sorted before fiddling with alterations to carb ratios and sensitivity ratios. The joy of pumping is the ability to fine tune basal rates to match what you need hour by hour. How far have you got with doing the fasting tests for this? I find these hard to fit in but do it in small chunks and gradually get each of the time periods checked, remembering that the rate needs changing 1 or 2 hours before the rise or fall in my BG. If you need help with this there are instructions at the top of the pumping part of the forum (go to Home and look for Pumping).

A book that you might find useful is called Pumping Insulin. This takes you through the fine tuning of your pump. Another good one is Think Like a Pancreas. (Sorry but I can’t remember the authors. I will add them in when I find them.

I know that most of what I have learnt has come from others on this forum. If you have any questions at all, just ask. No questions are considered silly on here.

Hello and welcome @riddler 🙂

How are you finding life on a pump? Were you having specific problems with long acting insulin or night time hypos on MDI?

I hope things are settling down for you and you've got through the initial basal testing. The Pumping Insulin book @SB2015 mentions I found very useful - author John Walsh.

I've used a Medtronic pump for about 14 years after swapping from a Roche - moved areas and they didn't use my previous pump - I love my 640g. Hope you're feeling kindly disposed towards your new pump but I know it can be exasperating at times!
