Hi Dave, welcome to the forum 🙂 How have things been for you? Never great to get diagnosed at any age, but 16 must have been tough 😱 What insulin are you on, are you pumping? Please feel free to join in where you wish, or ask any questions you may have 🙂

Hi and welcome to the forum :D

Hi daveyboy70
Welcome aboard, hope you find the forum useful 🙂

Hi and thanks for the nice welcome to the forum ☺.. I went on a pump as my control was up and down so much one day I couldn't get below my high 20'school then I would just drop rite down to 2 there was never any pattern just very high or hypo so I was put on a pump and for the first 2 mth's it was brilliant my levels went down between 17 and 9 then all of a sudden it started to go wrong I ended up in hospital twice with dka in a matter of 4 mth's so decided to go back to injections but since been on then not had any more dka but again levels up and down hypos in morning afternoon night and the same with very high 20s it doesn't seem to make any difference what ever insulin they put me on or whatever we try it's kinda of soul breaking some times its like I'm having to fight this all alone but I'm still trying to fight it and sort it out

Sorry to hear this :( What insulin are you on now? Have you considered using a Freestyle Libre to try and find out any patterns in your injecting/eating/levels? If not, might be worth giving it a go 🙂

Hi Dave, and welcome 🙂

Sorry to hear your levels are so up and down. Mine are a bit too, but they don't go as high as that, I just seem to have a choice of hypo or around 8-12, not enough in between.

Hi northern I have been on every insulin possible but at the moment I'm on humalog and lantus my eating patterns are the same I never change it times are the same every day and injection sites are pretty good and rotation it seems some time after sitting down and looking at reading's with doctors and other people it's like because they don't know or have the answer to why I'm having all these strange blood reading's they seem to keep going over and over the same ways but never with any great answer to why.and then I end up going home feeling worse because it's like it's all my fault because they dont/can't understand why so I go home no the wiser

Hi juliet thanks for your reply ☺
It's not nice feeling tried and out of energy all the time I would be happy to have one good days reading
X
