I was put onto a similar, slightly less refined version when I was diagnosed, along with Metformin, so its, just possibly a more modern treatment regime than historically.
So I would have no problems.
The positives.
It worked really well.
However, I am no longer on it, so I can only tell you my experience short term.
But if I needed to, I suspect I would prefer the version you are on, as opposed to the earlier version I had, if I needed to be re-prescribed.
I was morbidly obese at diagnosis, so I took advantage of the NHS, tested, realised which carbs I couldn't tolerate, worked with their dietician and gym, did a low fat calorie controlled diet, followed by the Newcastle diet, lost a lot of weight, and came off all diabetes control after revesing my diabetes.
