Thank you. I am 64 and have been T2 diabetic for about 8 years I think. I'm now on Metformin (2x500mg twice a day), empagalozin (Jardiance 25mg once a day) and now Linagliptin (5mg once a day). Last Hba1c was 60 a few months ago which was down from 75 at the last test. I have also been under a Neurology Consultant for a year or two for a right hand tremor. As a result of his investigations (including a nerve conduction test) I've been told I have peripheral neuropathy probably linked to the diabetes. He has suggested I take pregabalin which will help with that in particular, the pain although I'm not sure that I have pain linked to the neuropathy. I've heard some negative stuff about this drug and having read the instructions that come with them I'm even more concerned about starting them. He has also referred me to specialist physios so I've decided to wait until I see them before starting any more tablets. It feels like a heavy load of medication I'm on. Since starting the empaglafloxin in April this year I've lost around a stone in weight. I suppose I'm looking for any comments and advice about all this from members who might be on a similar medication pattern.Hi and welcome, ask away, there's loads of peeps with real world experience of all forms of diabetes on here, so someone will probably have the answers.... 😎
Yes, sorry I mis-typed. I am T2.Just to be clear, your profile says type2, but your comment above says type1?
Are there any problems in particular you’re having with the medications you’re on that you’re wanting support with? It’s common to be on 3 or more diabetes medications if diet, exercise, and the 1-2 medications you were taking previously weren’t enough to manage your blood sugar. If you have weight to lose then it’s good you’ve been losing with the empagliflozin.I suppose I'm looking for any comments and advice about all this from members who might be on a similar medication pattern.
Thank you. It's good to know that 3 medications is not unusual. I'm OK with the weight loss as long as that is not unusual on empaglafloxin. Are there any problems in particular you’re having with the medications you’re on that you’re wanting support with?
